Pumpkin Patch and HOWLoween Fair!!

We had a lot of fun this weekend!

So Saturday was pretty boring, but we made up for it on Sunday! We started off Sunday with going to a Canine Street Fair in Ocean Beach. It was free and Alan was spending the weekend with us and HE LOVES DOGS! Also aunt Kim was working and wanted to visit with Kamilo. Did I mention it was free? We saw lots of cute dogs in funny costumes and was able to spend some time with Uncle Lalo and Abuelito Roman. We had a quick lunch at In N Out and then took some cute Halloween pictures of Kamilo at Sears. They have an awesome deal for $4.99 for an 8X10 Collage photo. The pictures turned out so cute .. I only wish I could of bought them all. Auntie Allison (Cousin of Eddies) came and helped us out on getting Kamilo to smile. Not very hard until we put the Goofy costume on him :( He did not like that costume!!

So after the fun Lunch and Photo shoot at Sears ...we headed over to the Pumpkin Patch! So much fun, again it was free as long as we were just taking pictures! Kamilo of course is a very good participant, except when he is hungry! It is very difficult to get Eddie, Lalo, Alan, and Granpa Roman to all look the same way! Or I am just not a very good photographer.

We did have a very good time! Lots of cute pictures lots of quality family time. Only $21 not bad for a great weekend and many wonderful pictures! I can't wait till Halloween actually gets here .. One more week to go!

I think that I took way to many pictures of Kamilo with the pumpkins I really do call him my bumpkin but he looks like a pumpkin... I just love my little miracle boy!

What a wonderful Fall Weekend!

This weekend was very busy! We found out Friday that we were not going to be able to keep the Dodge Durango due to something crazy about it is hard to finance a vehicle that is a Domestic Gas Guzzler?? They instead wanted to put us in a car or minivan import. We are not about to get put into a car payment again for five years when we need something bigger. So I had to turn the SUV back into the dealership today, it mesaes everything up and makes our finances even tighter. We are probably going to have to wait a year to have another baby! I think it was becuase they gave me a SUV for a killer deal and someone got in trouble for it!! So instead of being bummed ... Eddie and I made the most of it .. and made sure we emptied the full gas tank!

We drove up to Lake Cuyamaca to visit with Unlce Lalo and all of his friends from work! We had a lot of fun! Kamilo was out in the great outdoors.

Kamilo was able to feed and get up close to a goose! He watches his video everyday "Your Baby can Read" and in the video they show all kinds of animals including a goose. So he was probably amazed to see the real thing up close Don't worry daddy protected him! While I was taking pictures .. Uncle Cruz had to save my feet from a big giant white one!!

So on Sunday... Dad went to work .. While Mom and Kamilo went to go visit Aunt Landra and my cute little nephew Nolan. We were able to get them together without them fighting or one of them crying! They are only two months apart .. but of course Kamilo is sooooo big! We were able to go to lunch and walk around Parkway Plaza! We found the cutest Goofy costume for Kamilo to wear for Halloween! We even made plans to take the boys to Aunt Lorna's house for Halloween like I mentioned in the past post!! We are super excited!
So as you notice ...in the picture below ..Nolan is trying to Bully Kamilo already .. he is actually squeezing Kamilo's ear! He is probably making sure Kamilo knows that just because he is smaller does not mean he will be putting up with any crap. I hope they get along this well as they get older!!

Nolan Robert Marler 2 1/2 months & Kamilo Cruz Medina 4 1/2 Months!

BEST COUSINS FOREVER!!

Halloween Is Coming!

I love the Fall Season, the chilly air and wind! I also love Halloween, I remember many memories growing up where we would all dress up and go to my Aunt Lorna's house. She would have homemade Spahghetti sitting on the stove, the house would be decorated like a haunted house, and she always had dry ice out on the lawn so it looked nice and Foggy!
The "men" would take all the kids Trick or Treating (Sometimes there would bebe 10 plus kids/cousins) My step dad would be waving the flashlight so we did not fall and would yell at the drivers that went too fast. We would come back and forth to the house and eat and rest then go out again. Sometimes dropping off loads of candy. The women would stay at home and talk for hours, as I got older I got to join this group. Every year we would keep track of how many Trick or Treaters we got! Sometimes we would get over 400 kids! Our family was so close at one time I can only hope and pray that I can try to find that with my family.

I miss all of those times that we would just hang out! Once my Nana passed away everything changed and it is almost like we are not a family anymore. I still love this season and hope that I can reproduce events like this one. Or talk my aunt into starting up the old family tradition since we have young kids again. If only I can show Alan and Kamilo how much fun Holidays can be with large families. The mexican tradition is not quite the same, but who knows maybe I can reproduce the good times of my old family.
Kamilo is growing up so fast! He is so stubborn and wants to be independent. He wants to eat by himself, he wants to hold his own bottle, he wants to move around, he has even decided he does not want to sleep with mom and dad anymore. Whatever happened to my little infant. Alan is such a good older brother .. and Eddie is such a great Father!! I am so very blessed to have my own family.

Funny Family...Funny 10 Year Old!

It was Alan's 10th Birthday on October 8th... I am constantly telling him that he needs to learn to make his own decisions and not let his mom and dad make them for him. Well what a day for him to make his own decision. Eddie and I knew Alan enjoyed a good steak dinner, Lately we have not been able to go out for a steak. (Meaning since I had the baby) Well we decided to take Alan to Black Angus (Coupons) for dinner for his birthday. So I get home from work and Eddie has Kamilo ready to go, so we tell Alan together that we are going to take him to dinner that night for his birthday. He gets all excited and says "Yay were going to HOOTERS" UGHHH is all I can say ...actually I decided to tell him that Holoters does not have steak. He was so bummed!

So I asked him what his choice would be between a steak dinner and Hooters. He actually made a choice. I am assuming wanting to go to Hooters for his birthday is because of his young uncles or because of his Mom's family...I figure not to go there with my mind....Kids are so funny! Happy Birthday Alan! I am so proud of you for making your own decision! At Least I can try to say he kept his eyes closed the whole time.

Tripoding Baby...and a great weekend!

This weekend ..Eddie and I decided to buy a "Family" vehicle. Since we are trying to conceive a 2nd child we decided we should get a safer vehicle and try to save some money at the same time. We went (me unwillingly) to a car lot down in National City! I got a great deal on a 2007 Dodge Durango for $5 more a month than my little old beat up 2004 Saturn Ion... Wow what a great deal. There was a lot of scary/costly stuff going on with the Saturn . The catalytic covertor was out ($800)..the Air conditioner was not working to its full potential... the registration was due this month...($151)... it was very small...and unsafe (Priceless). I am happy that Eddie made me go...

This weekend Kamilo at 4 months old ..has shown us a great deal of new stuff ..it is very cute ... he is trying to crawl backwards... almost sitting up completely...and loves doing pushups. It is very amazing to see Kamilo do all of these new things.
We went to the Swap Meet today and we bought Alan a Skim Board for his upcoming birthday on Wednesday. He even had a chance to try it out at the beach with his uncle Lalo.

Starting a Family Blog

Well wish me luck on getting started as I am not very good technically, but here it goes!

I guess I am overdue for this ..... I have officially had my own family for 4 months now. Yes my very own family that nobody can take away. This is a very sureal feeling, I don't believe I have a child of my own. For anyone that does not know the story, I will write the short version. I am the second oldest of 7 children, I was 9 years old when my mom had the final five children. So I grew up taking care of babies. I have wanted children of my own for as long as I remember, I always wanted to be a young mother, 33 is young ...right?? My sister has sent her kids my way a few times, once for a month when Faith was 4 and Tristan was one. Once for three months, Faith was 6. And the last time I had two of them for 18 months, Kylie was 2, and Tristan was 6. Obviously everytime they went home to thier mom. Everytime was difficult especially the final time I had really connected with the two of them. In my mind I honestly thought this was God's explanation of why I had never gotten pregnant. Well He obviously had other plans, in April of 2007 when Tristan and Kyle went back to there mom. My husband and I got to enjoy our marriage and relationship as two people instead of a ready made family. This made us even closer than we already were. In June of 2007 I saw a fertility doctor at UCSD to figure out why I had not conceived yet. His explanation was simple, you don't ovulate, you need to be on clomed and that will help. Well Eddie and I decided to hold off on the clomed until our two year anniversary of August of 2008, mainly so I can get down to a healthy weight and so I could find a new job that was not as stressful. Well as we expected my sister decided to move to Nevad with the children in September of 2007. This made Eddie and I very sad becuase the two children we had come so close too were moving very far away. Crazyiness ...that very same month we discovered we were pregnant! WOW!! What a true blessing from God!
